Content of research

Our department aims to explore 1) bio-molecular devices via advanced nano-lithography and nanomeasurement techniques, 2) high-resolution imaging and manipulations of bio-molecules using scanning probe microscopy towards novel bio-mimic nanodevices. The object of this department is to research molecular-scale devices based on the function of single molecule. We are developing new techniques for the measurement of physical and chemical properties of single or several molecules.

[ Current Research Programs ]

  1. Construction of systems to detect and sense biomolecules and their information using gating nanopore structures
  2. High-resolution imaging and atomic-manipulations of biomolecules using scanning probe microscopy
  3. Programmed self-assembly and self-organization for molecular device
  4. Electronic properties of single molecule connected to metals or semiconductors
  5. Nover techniques on scanning probe microscopy and scanning electron microscopy for molecular devices
