LAPLACIAN PLATFORM

Laplacian Platform in RIKEN SPring-8, Harima

Laser Acceleration Platform

The Laser Acceletation Platform is a unique experimental platform specailly designed for laser wake-field acceleration researches, which is located in the RIKEN SPring-8 center, Harima, Hyōgo Prefecture, next to the 8 GeV storage ring and SACLA linear accelerator and XFEL. The platform construction was finished in 2018, supported by the ImPACT program (Ubiquitous Power Laser for Achieving a Safe, Secure and Longevity Society).

The laser system in the platform is an order-made Ti:Sapphire femtolaser system, which can deliver 3 laser beams with adjustable parameters, meanwhile synchronized with each other. All 3 beams have tunable pulse duration with a minimum of 24 fs, 10^11 contrast @ 50ps, Strehl ratio better than 0.9 before/after the off-axis parabola.
