About Myself

Thank you for your interest in myself and my research. My name is Yijin Zhang, a JSPS research fellow in the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research (ISIR), Osaka University. I finished my PhD in the University of Tokyo and joined Oiwa laboratory in 2016. I’m currently working on optoelectronics of novel layered semiconductors, namely transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) such as MoS2, MoSe2, and WSe2. In particular, following my previous discovery of a chiral (circularly polarized) electroluminescence from these materials, the main focus is to understand the underlying mechanism of this peculiar phenomenon from the view point of physics. Fortunately, Prof. von Klitzing and Dr. Smet in Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research got interested in this project, and, as a great honour, we are now working together.
