# L-band linac # RF-Gun S-band linac # Co-60 gamma ray irradiation # Free electron laser

The Research Laboratory for Quantum Beam Science has two main electron linear accelerators and a cobalt-60 gamma ray irradiation device, which are currently provided for joint use within and outside Osaka University. The research, so far, has been conducted in a wide range of the fields such as basic study of time-resolved chemical reactions as well as developing new materials due to radiation and evaluating radiation-induced effects on living organisms using gamma rays, electron beams. Recently, we have also been working on the development of a compact high-energy electron beam source and the construction of a quantum beam drug discovery platform that aims to produce drugs in body with the aid of high energy electron beams. We are also conducting variable basic research practices and human resource development, by using several machines mentioned above and high-intensity lasers. We are going to strive to provide a place to create cutting-edge innovation.
