[ 1. Ability to identify problems on their own ]

One of Einstein's most famous quotes is as follows:

"If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask, for once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than five minutes"

Many students tend to focus on "solving problems," probably because they are still in the habit of doing so up until high school. However, I believe that what you need to learn at university is the ability to find "the proper questions", and this ability will be very useful in any future career.
As a way to cultivate these skills, our laboratory has adopted "design thinking" and holds weekly brainstorming meetings with all laboratory members to find " the proper questions" to be solved through research.

[ 2. Presentation skills ]

If you could not convey what you would like to say to others, you would lose out in various situations. Therefore, I think it is very important to develop your presentation skills while you are still a student. For a presentation to be effective, it is necessary to have clear logic, not to include unnecessary words such as "uh" and "um" in the talk, to make the level of the presentation appropriate to the audience, to change the way you deliver the message depending on the audience's reaction, and many other things. In addition to talking, the same can be said for writing and creating presentation materials.
In order to cultivate these skills, our laboratory not only provides detailed guidance at research progress reports and when writing papers, but also teaches the "spinal reflex" conversational skills necessary to give a pleasant talk that can easily penetrate the audience's mind without including uninformative words such as "uh" and "um".

[ 3. Acquisition of deep and broad knowledge ]

No new ideas can sprout without knowledge. The broader the knowledge, the richer the ideas that come from it. Our laboratory conducts research that is only possible through the integration of optics, engineering, physics, chemistry, cell biology, embryology, botany, bioengineering, and pharmacology, which inevitably leads to the acquisition of broad and deep knowledge, and thus the ability to conceive original ideas that would not be possible without this knowledge.

Once you have these three skills, you will be able to draw the big picture and work steadily toward it. In addition to these skills, you will also learn the skills necessary for group management and entrepreneurship.
Why don't you train yourself and grow a lot in our laboratory?
