Graduate's Voice

Q1.What is your current job?

Founder & CEO, LumiSTAR Biotechnology, Inc

Q2.What has been useful to you in your work after studying at Nagai lab, and what has been utilized in your current work?

My PhD projects in Nagai lab were about developing luminescence and fluorescence indicators. I was fascinated by the beauty of the luminescent natural creatures and further applications of these tools, and that is why I founded LumiSTAR Biotechnology in Taiwan to commercialize these tools and develop various screening platforms by incorporation with other technologies, like iPSC and virology. The experience in Nagai lab really inspires me to try different things in my career.

Q3.Message to juniors

Nagai lab offers the best imaging instruments and research environments for students to do the projects. Actually, it is rare to have such an easy access to the state-of-the-art facilities in research institutes for my experience in Europe and Taiwan. In Nagai lab, people are very lucky as they can enjoy their creativity in science and explore different possibilities with lots of support.
